The 2026 Cannes Film Festival has come to a close, as the biggest stars and filmmakers – such as John Travolta, Demi Moore, Emma Mackey and Juliette Binoche – descended to the south of France to share their country’s best movies coming soon.

This year’s festival was a sign of what the future of film might look like in the near future – as the U.S. continues to isolate itself on the world stage, other countries are stepping in to try and take its place.
