    Municipalities renew call for B.C. government to take over management of dikes
    Repaired dikes and the destroyed Voght Street bridge along the Coldwater River in Merritt, B.C. in early June. The catastrophic flooding in November 2021 covered the entire foreground. Seven months after flooding forced the evacuation of the town the signs of destruction dot the low-lying area along the river. Property owners and the municipality continue clean-up work and consider whether to stay and rebuild as climate disaster frequency increases in the B.C. Interior.
