An announcement from AFLAC ( (AFL) ) is now available.

Aflac Incorporated on April 29, 2026 reported first-quarter 2026 revenue of $4.3 billion, up 27.9% year over year, with net earnings surging to $1.0 billion, or $1.98 per diluted share, from $29 million, or $0.05 per share, driven largely by a swing to net investment gains. Adjusted earnings were essentially flat at $901 million, but adjusted earnings per share rose 5.4% to $1.75 as buybacks supported per-share metrics despite weaker variable investment income and a slightly weaker yen.

The insurer highlighted an annualized return on equity of 13.7% and an annualized adjusted ROE excluding foreign currency remeasurement of 16.4%, while total shareholders’ equity climbed to $30.0 billion, aided by changes in discount rate assumptions on insurance reserves. Aflac returned $1.3 billion to shareholders through $1.0 billion in buybacks and $315 million in dividends and underscored its strategic emphasis on profitable growth and new product initiatives in Japan and U.S. group benefits as it seeks to extend its multi-decade record of dividend increases.

The most recent analyst rating on (AFL) stock is a Sell with a $102.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on AFLAC stock, see the AFL Stock Forecast page.

Spark’s Take on AFL Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, AFL is a Outperform.

The score is driven primarily by solid financial quality (profitability, conservative leverage, and improving 2025 cash flow). The earnings call supports stability via strong capital and shareholder returns, but near-term operating headwinds (Japan premium declines and U.S. claims pressure) temper upside. Technicals are neutral-to-mildly supportive, and valuation is reasonable with a ~2.1% yield.
