FirstService ( (TSE:FSV) ) has shared an announcement.
FirstService Corporation, a leading North American property services provider, operates through FirstService Residential, the continent’s largest manager of residential communities, and FirstService Brands, one of the largest essential property services platforms using company-owned and franchised systems. The Toronto-headquartered company generates more than $5.5 billion in annual revenues, employs about 30,000 people and has its common shares listed on NASDAQ and the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol FSV, where they are part of the S&P/TSX 60 Index.
On August 20, 2026, FirstService announced that the Toronto Stock Exchange has accepted its notice to launch a new normal course issuer bid, allowing the company from August 26, 2026 to August 25, 2027 to repurchase up to 3,930,112 common shares, or 10% of its public float, through the TSX, Canadian alternative trading systems and NASDAQ. The company, which had 43,669,770 shares outstanding as of August 12, 2026, said all repurchased shares will be cancelled and explained that the bid is intended to capitalize on periods when its stock trades below perceived value and to mitigate dilution from stock options.
FirstService also entered into an automatic share purchase plan with a designated broker, effective concurrently with the new buyback period, to enable repurchases during regulatory or self-imposed blackout windows within parameters set by the exchanges and securities laws. The new program follows a prior issuer bid running from August 26, 2025 to August 25, 2026 under which FirstService had already bought back and cancelled 2,311,991 shares at a weighted average price of US$136.87, underscoring management’s ongoing use of share repurchases as a capital allocation tool that may benefit long-term shareholders.

Spark’s Take on FSV Stock
According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, FSV is a Neutral.
The score is driven primarily by mixed fundamentals: consistent free cash flow and steady margins are offset by a sharp TTM revenue decline and reduced balance-sheet visibility. The earnings call supports a moderately positive outlook with continued cash generation and buybacks, but technicals are weak (below key moving averages) and valuation is demanding (high P/E with low yield).
