GATX also invests in joint ventures that complement existing business activities. The company is a leader in leasing transportation assets and controls a large railcar fleet. The company also operates the largest fleet of U.S.-flagged vessels on the Great Lakes and, jointly with Rolls-Royce plc, is the owner of one of the largest aircraft spare engine lease portfolios globally.
