TipRanks' Prime Week Sale - 70% Off

Hudbay Minerals ( (TSE:HBM) ) has provided an update.

On June 24, 2026, Hudbay Minerals Inc. completed its court-approved acquisition of Arizona Sonoran Copper Company Inc., making Arizona Sonoran a wholly owned subsidiary and delisting its shares from the Toronto Stock Exchange. Former Arizona Sonoran shareholders received Hudbay stock in exchange, consolidating ownership of the Cactus copper project into Hudbay’s portfolio.

The transaction is intended to create the third-largest copper district in North America by combining Hudbay’s Copper World project with the newly acquired Cactus project in Arizona. Hudbay expects significant operating and corporate synergies, a stronger U.S. domestic copper footprint and a clear path to scaling annual copper output, positioning the company as a leading Americas-focused producer with enhanced reserves and per-share net asset value.

The most recent analyst rating on (TSE:HBM) stock is a Buy

Spark’s Take on HBM Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, HBM is a Outperform.

The score is driven primarily by strengthened financial performance (higher profitability and improved leverage) and a very positive earnings update with reiterated guidance and clear growth catalysts. Valuation is supportive (moderate P/E and high dividend yield), while technicals confirm an uptrend. Offsetting factors are cyclical earnings/cash-flow volatility, mixed cash conversion, and ongoing permitting/capex uncertainty around growth projects.
