Huntsman ( (HUN) ) just unveiled an update.
On June 15, 2026, Huntsman Corporation entered into a definitive all‑stock merger of equals agreement with Olin Corporation to combine the two businesses under a new name, OlinHuntsman Corporation, in a transaction unanimously approved by both boards. The deal can be executed either as a direct merger or via a two‑step subsidiary structure, with Huntsman shareholders to receive 0.5476 shares of Olin common stock for each Huntsman share, and the combined company to be headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas and listed on the NYSE.
The governance plan gives the combined board ten directors split evenly between Olin and Huntsman designees plus the two CEOs, with Olin’s Kenneth Lane set to become chief executive officer and Huntsman’s Peter Huntsman to serve as non‑executive chair, while Huntsman CFO Phil Lister becomes CFO of the new group. The agreement includes detailed provisions on the treatment of Huntsman and Olin equity awards, standard regulatory and shareholder approval conditions, termination rights and a reciprocal $121 million break‑up fee structure, and is supported by a voting and support agreement under which Peter Huntsman and affiliated entities have committed their shares in favor of the transaction and against competing takeover proposals.

Spark’s Take on HUN Stock
According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, HUN is a Neutral.
The score is held back most by weak profitability and ongoing losses despite revenue recovery, only partly offset by positive free cash flow and moderate leverage. Technicals are a clear positive with price above key moving averages and supportive momentum. Valuation is mixed (high dividend yield but negative P/E), and the earnings call suggests improving near-term pricing/utilization while emphasizing limited visibility and cost/geopolitical sensitivity.
