The latest update is out from Orix ( (IX) ).
On April 13, 2026, ORIX Corporation announced it will implement a simplified absorption-type company split in which ORIX and its subsidiary ORIX Auto will succeed the leasing business of consolidated unit Tsukuba Lease Corporation. Following the split, scheduled to take effect on August 1, 2026 after execution of an agreement in mid-May, Tsukuba Lease will be dissolved and liquidated, with its lease receivables and installment receivables transferred at book value.
The restructuring is intended to streamline operations and improve the use of management resources by integrating Tsukuba Lease’s activities into the wider ORIX Group, without altering ORIX’s capital structure or requiring shareholder meetings due to its high ownership stakes. ORIX and ORIX Auto will assume specified assets, liabilities, and contracts of Tsukuba Lease, and the group expects no issues in meeting obligations, signaling a consolidation move aimed at efficiency and potentially stronger positioning in Japan’s leasing and auto-related finance markets.
Spark’s Take on IX Stock
According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, IX is a Outperform.
The score is primarily driven by mixed financial quality—strong growth/profitability but constrained by leverage and negative free-cash-flow trend. Technicals are supportive due to a clear uptrend, though overbought signals add near-term risk. Valuation and capital returns from the earnings call (moderate P/E, dividend, and expanded buybacks) provide additional support, offset by management’s cautious guidance and disclosed operating/credit headwinds.
