The iShares U.S. Real Estate ETF seeks to track the investment results of an index composed of U.S. equities in the real estate sector. The Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the Dow Jones U.S. Real Estate Index (the Underlying Index). The Underlying Index measures the performance of the real estate sector of the U.S. equity market. The Underlying Index includes companies in the following industry groups: real estate holding and development and real estate investment trusts (REITs). As of May 29, 2009, the Underlying Index was concentrated in the REITs industry group, which comprised 95% of the market capitalization of the Underlying Index.
