Telus investigating security breach of BPO data, BleepingComputer says

Tipranks - Fri Mar 13, 1:06PM CDT

Telus (TU) Digital confirmed it experienced a security breach after threat actors alleged to have stolen nearly 1 petabyte of data from the business process outsourcing giant in a multi-month cyberattack, BleepingComputer’s Lawrence Abrams reports. The attack was carried out by threat actors known as ShinyHunters, who say they stole a wide range of customer information related to Telus’ BPO operations, as well as call records for the company’s consumer telecoms unit, the author notes. “TELUS Digital is investigating a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to a limited number of our systems. Upon discovery, we took immediate steps to address the unauthorized activity and secure our systems against further intrusion. We are actively managing the situation and continue to monitor it closely,” Telus told BleepingComputer.
