Unifi ( (UFI) ) has issued an update.

Unifi, Inc., the maker of REPREVE recycled fibers, reported third-quarter fiscal 2026 results on May 5, 2026, showing significant profitability improvement despite softer demand. Net sales fell 11.3% year over year to $130 million due mainly to geopolitical and trade uncertainty, but rose 7.1% sequentially, while REPREVE products contributed $38.2 million, or 29% of sales, reflecting growing traction for sustainable offerings.

The company swung to a $9.1 million gross profit and a 7.0% gross margin from a slight gross loss a year earlier, driven largely by multi-year cost reductions and a 9% cut in SG&A expenses. Net loss narrowed sharply to $2.3 million and adjusted EBITDA turned positive at $4 million, supporting stronger cash generation, reduced net debt of $68.4 million and a more resilient balance sheet as Unifi invests in innovation, including its new Luxel performance yarn and textile-to-textile recycling initiatives.

Spark’s Take on UFI Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, UFI is a Neutral.

The score is held back primarily by weak financial performance (ongoing losses and very thin free cash flow) and loss-based valuation (negative P/E). Offsetting these are improving technical momentum and a more constructive earnings-call outlook driven by cost reductions, better margins, and balance-sheet/cash-flow progress, though revenue declines and tariff-related uncertainty remain key risks.
