Wipro ( (WIT) ) has provided an announcement.

On May 25, 2026, Wipro announced a substantial share buyback program, following board approval on April 16, 2026 and shareholder approval via postal ballot on May 21, 2026, to repurchase up to 600 million fully paid equity shares. The buyback, representing up to 5.72% of its equity capital and up to 24.99% of paid-up capital and free reserves on a standalone basis, will be executed through a tender offer at ₹250 per share for a total consideration of up to ₹15,000 crore.

The offer, to be conducted via stock exchange mechanisms with June 5, 2026 as the record date, is open to all eligible shareholders, including promoters and investors who convert ADSs into equity before that date. Framed as a means to return surplus cash beyond Wipro’s operational and investment needs, the move is designed to boost capital efficiency and shareholder returns, with tax and transaction implications flagged for investors in India and abroad.

The most recent analyst rating on (WIT) stock is a Sell with a $2.02 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Wipro stock, see the WIT Stock Forecast page.

Spark’s Take on WIT Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, WIT is a Neutral.

The score is driven primarily by solid financial strength (low leverage and strong free cash flow). It is tempered by cautious near-term revenue guidance and mixed earnings-call signals, plus weak technical trend positioning versus longer-term moving averages; valuation is supported by a high dividend yield but not clearly cheap on P/E.
