Canada is one of the most cashless countries in the world — a Global Payments Report estimates that by this year, cash will make up up just three per cent of all point-of-sale transactions in the country. Many businesses have followed suit, refusing to accept cash as payment. But for older Canadians, the age group that uses cash the most, it is still an important way to pay.
