For a future article, The Globe wants to know if you are impacted by the escalating tensions in Mexico, following the military’s killing of drug lord Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, “El Mencho.”

Oseguera Cervantes was the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, one of the most powerful and fastest-growing crime organizations in the country.

Chaos ensued after his death, prompting Air Canada, Porter and West Jet to cancel flights to the Puerto Vallarta airport, which is in Jalisco. The Canadian government issued a shelter-in-place warning to Canadians currently in the state as violence escalated, with armed civilians roaming the streets and vehicles set on fire as roadblocks.
