The owner of this two-bedroom, corner unit had three owners of other units in the same coveted waterfront building lining up to buy, but decided to open it up to a wider field of potential buyers by listing it for sale publicly. Units have frequently traded within the 35-year-old complex next to the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, but the last comparable model sold in 2006.

“The suite is one of only five in the building … with this particular layout and southwest-facing exposure offering a clear, unobstructed sightline over Queen’s Quay Terminal to Lake Ontario, Toronto Harbour, the [Toronto] Islands and the city skyline,” said agent Oksana Jancevic.

“These suites are highly sought after and rarely come to market.”

The 1,154-square-foot unit hit the market in July priced at $1,149,000. Three offers quickly rolled in. The eventual buyer was another current building resident who topped the asking price by $79,000.

“Knowing this property was special, we decided to expose it to the market and see what happens,” said Ms. Jancevic.
