There was an overabundance of condominium units in the west-end Humber Bay Shores area this summer, which might have suppressed demand for this 2,028-square-foot corner unit at Palace Place by the Humber River. But a handful of buyers appreciated its newly renovated eat-in kitchen and three bathrooms. Within a week, there were two offers to buy.
“I was quite surprised to see it go that quickly, but it speaks to the level of fit and finish throughout the suite,” said agent Luke Dalinda.
“[The seller] hired a renowned designer, named Mary Stanton, well known in homes and condos for doing very high-end, luxury work.”
Selling this 33-year-old unit for nearly 96 per cent of the asking price also demonstrates how many buyers are prioritizing larger spaces with access to upscale facilities, such as a pool, sports courts and putting greens, Mr. Dalinda said.
“Those who downsize from homes are attracted to Palace Place because of its unrivalled amenities and services that are only amplified by its expansive suite layouts,” Mr. Dalinda said.
“Luxury buildings like this are better insulated from the overall condo market downturn.”
