The action

Homes in the area around Humewood Park saw some heated competition in the first two months of the year, and this four-bedroom house was no exception. Four would-be buyers made offers for the larger-than-average home with a private driveway on a 25- by 120-foot corner lot.

“There was very little inventory in the area with something comparable,” said agent Josie Stern.

“It was a good property, and we knew it was attractively priced with all the features it had.”

The winning offer came in $229,000 over the asking price.

“It was a corner property with a lot of land,” Ms. Stern said.

“It had two-car parking, which was very easy to get in and out of, and it has a main-floor family room, which was very unusual in the area.”
