This two-bedroom house at the end of a row of attached homes was recently rebuilt by its owners, both design professionals. Video tours and even a pop-up art event were used to promote the property last fall, but buyers could not ignore its lack of parking, lack of a third bedroom, its unfinished basement, and that it sits across the street from a large City of Toronto facilities management building.
“The style of the house totally worked for our client, but not really for anyone else,” said agent Suzanne Lewis.
“There were also a lot more homes on the market at that point.”
The home, taken off the market for most of the winter, was relisted with the price marked down in March. In April, two notable changes translated into more guests and three serious offers: A price cut to below $1-million and reclassifying the office as a bedroom, since it was originally a small bedroom before renovations. An offer came in at $1.09-million and was accepted.
