What they got
The 5,290-square-foot ranch-style home was custom-built in 2017, and makes the most of panoramic mountain, lake and city views. Situated on a third of an acre in Lakeview Heights on a bench in wine country, it backs onto a natural park. The kitchen is outfitted with custom cabinetry, quartz countertops and a butler’s pantry. There are three fireplaces, heated floors, four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a wine cellar, a games area, a den and a gym. Amid the landscaped gardens is a pool with a poolside changing room.

The action
The area, near the Mission Hill winery, is a lovely pocket in West Kelowna, listing agent Terry Osti said. The house is of a higher quality than much of the speculator-built housing in the Okanagan, which helped make it stand out, he said. Only four groups viewed the property, and one made an offer.
His sellers were the property’s second owners, and they paid $2.475-million in 2021 for the property.
Mr. Osti said they did well in a slow market. The buyers are from the Lower Mainland.

The agent’s take
“In the Okanagan Valley, when you get up into that $2.5-million range, it’s like the $5-million range in Vancouver. It’s a pretty exclusive club,” Mr. Osti said.
The “club” is typically comprised of buyers from Metro Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto, he said.
The deal was completed on March 20.
