Ukrainians honour Chornobyl 'liquidators' on 40th anniversary of nuclear disaster
People streamed in from different parts of the city to place candles on a large radiation hazard symbol as they marked the 40th anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster. The midnight commemoration honoured not only those killed in the accident, but all those who risked their lives to contain its aftermath.
