the annual Nicole Steffan Blood Drive in honour her daughter, Nicole, who died from breast cancer in 2023 at the age of 37.
 
As Kathy says: In her final months, Nicole received multiple blood transfusions which helped prolong her life. She told Kathy that rather than asking people to donate money to cancer or any other cause, she wanted everyone to consider becoming a regular blood donor.
 
This year’s drive on April 8 yielded 52 units of blood.
