Dollar Tree reported first-quarter fiscal 2026 results on May 28, 2026, showing net sales up 7.2% to $5.0 billion and comparable store net sales up 3.5%, driven by higher average ticket despite slightly lower traffic. Operating income from continuing operations rose 23% to $473.3 million with a 120-basis-point margin expansion, while adjusted diluted EPS climbed 38% to $1.74, reflecting benefits from better mark-on, lower freight and shrink, partially offset by higher tariffs and markdowns.
The company continued reshaping its store base, opening 113 new locations and converting or adding about 630 outlets to its multi-price format, ending the quarter with roughly 5,900 multi-price stores and 9,382 locations overall across the U.S. and Canada. Strong cash generation, including $644 million from operating activities and $392 million of free cash flow, supported $595 million of share repurchases in Q1 and left Dollar Tree with $1 billion in cash and $1.3 billion remaining under its buyback authorization, while management raised its fiscal 2026 adjusted EPS outlook to $6.70–$7.10 and guided for mid-single-digit comparable sales growth and continued store openings in the year ahead.

Spark’s Take on DLTR Stock
According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, DLTR is a Neutral.
The score is driven primarily by mixed fundamentals—strong operating cash flow but weak net profitability and elevated leverage—partly offset by constructive FY2026 guidance and operational progress from the latest earnings call. Technical signals are the main near-term drag given the stock’s downtrend and bearish momentum, while the moderate P/E provides some valuation support.
