The iShares India 50 ETF seeks to track the investment results of an index composed of 50 of the largest Indian equities. The Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the SP CNX Nifty Index (the Underlying Index). The Fund will carry out its investment strategies by investing substantially all of its assets in a wholly-owned subsidiary in the Republic of Mauritius (the Subsidiary), which in turn, will invest at least 80% of its total assets in securities that comprise the Underlying Index and depositary receipts representing securities of the Underlying Index. The Underlying Index measures the equity performance of the top 50 companies by market capitalization that trade in the Indian market. The Fund may invest the remainder of its assets in securities not included in its Underlying Index but which BlackRock Fund Advisors (BFA) believes will help the Fund track its Underlying Index, and in futures contracts, options on futures contracts, options and swaps as well as cash and cash equivalents, including shares of money market funds advised by BFA.
