This three-bedroom bungalow was put up for sale at just over $1.2-million, a price deemed appropriate given assets such as an attached double garage, a private driveway that could fit four cars and a kidney-shaped in-ground pool.

Nearly a dozen interested parties, from inventors to first-time buyers, attended open houses to take a closer look at the house on a 71- by 100-foot corner lot near highways 400 and 401.

“We technically did not have any booked showings,” agent Matthew Shortt said. “It was just buyers at the open houses. I was a little surprised by how quiet it was, given that the house was priced well, considering everything it had.”

Within two weeks, a buyer came forward and a deal was struck at $75,000 below the asking price.

“It’s not as common in that neighbourhood to necessarily find a bungalow that’s move-in ready,” Mr. Shortt said. “Most properties, especially the bungalows ... are a little more dated, and sometimes they can sit on the market a little bit longer.”

WHAT THEY GOT

The bungalow has a standard living room with a fireplace, a dining area and a separate kitchen with stainless-steel appliances.

Like the main floor, the basement has a three-piece bathroom, an entertaining area with a fireplace and a kitchen with a rear exit. However, that level only has one bedroom.

THE AGENT’S TAKE

“It’s a corner lot, and the lot size was fairly large,” Mr. Shortt said.

“The main floor layout had a very homey vibe to it.”
