The action
Shelley Williams’s clients had looked at several listings when they went to the open house for this property and decided to make an offer.
“We send in [our offer] only to find out that there’s another offer. And of course, whenever there’s another offer, the realtor has to disclose it immediately. So, he said, ‘You need to understand something: While you were preparing your offer, someone else prepared their offer, and now you’re in a multiple offer situation.’ So, I thought, ‘These poor kids, they’ve been working so hard trying to find a place, and now they’re going to be in competition’ … and you don’t know what the other people have offered.”
On Ms. Williams’s recommendation, they offered $8,888 above asking. The deal was accepted, and the transaction was completed on May 21.
