Chris Wilson-Smith writes the Business Brief newsletter for The Globe and Mail. He has served in several capacities in about a decade at the newspaper, including as Foreign Editor and Deputy National editor, and has spent most of his time in the Report on Business. Chris has worked as a journalist at The Canadian Press, the Guelph Mercury, and the Waterloo Region Record. He has also held senior communications positions at the Royal Ontario Museum and the University of Waterloo.
SABEW’s 31st annual Best in Business Awards drew 988 entries from 150 news organizations, including international, national and regional outlets. "While many newsletters are commentary on the news and links to key stories," the judges wrote, "Chris Wilson-Smith goes beyond that by traveling and telling the stories of real people caught up in economic issues in nicely reported and written stories of their situations and challenges that anchor the newsletter."
